RiverKings add Goaltender Mark Sibbald to roster

RiverKings'  Derek Landmesser Makes CHL All-Star reserves!

 The Mississippi RiverKings add goaltender Mark Sibbald to the roster. Mark Sibbald has played 5 games with the RiverKings so far, winning all of them. 

Mississippi RiverKings' defense man and team captain, Derek Landmesser, has made the CHL All-Star team scheduled for Jan. 7th. CentralHockeyLeague's story: The starting defensemen are two of the top offensive defensemen in CHL history in Derek Landmesser and Bernie John.


Landmesser has played nine of the 10 seasons in the decade with the RiverKings leaving only for a brief stint in the United Hockey League (2001-02 with Muskegon).  He ranks as the highest scoring blue liner of the decade with 488 points (85-403=488) and is second on among defensemen on the CHL’s all-time scoring list trailing only Hardy Sauter. 

The six-time all-star was a part of the 2003 RiverKings CHL Championship scoring 10 points (1-9=10) in 14 playoff games.  He was also named the 2001 CHL Most Outstanding Defenseman and during his nine years in the league has never scored fewer than 48 points.  His best offensive season saw him reach 81 points (17-64=81), 2005-06.  He ranks 25th on the league’s all-time points list and 10th on the all-time assist list.

Derek Landmesser make CHL All-Decade team!

Mississippi RiverKings captain, Derek Landmesser made the CHL All-Decade team as top offensive defense man along with Bernie John. Here is the story from CentralHockeyLeague.com on Derek Landmesser:

      Dumont gets Hat-Trick.....and then some!       

  Forward and Assisstant captain, Louis Dumont, scored his first Hat-Trick of the season Dec. 4th 2009 against the Colorado Eagles! RiverKings won 6-3 thanks to Dumont.

                    RiverKings were down by one point in the beginning of the 3rd period, 3-2. But that quickly changed as Dumont scored his first goal of the game, assisted by Kevin Cooper and Andrew Lackner at 12:59 into the 3rd period, making the game tied, 3-3. Then, only two minutes later, Dumont scored again, assisted by Kevin Cooper and Matt Summers at 14:33 into the 3rd period of play, turning the game around, making the score 4-3. At 15:59, Dumont dumped the puck into the net, yet again. This goal was assisted by Steve Makway and Kevin Cooper. Louis Dumont's last goal of the game was scored 18:32 into the 3rd period. This goal was unasissted and an empty netter. Dumont has scored 9 goals this season with 11 assists and 14 PIM.

                                                      Severson leaves the RiverKings             

                                 RiverKings forward #44, Cam Severson, has left the Mississippi RiverKings. It was announced that Severson joined the RiverKings this year in August. He has scored 8 goals and 13 points and has had 34 PIM while with the RiverKings this season. According to Head-Coach and director of hockey operation, Kevin "Killer" Kaminski, Severson has left to continue his playing career in Europe.

   Chaumont for CHL Performance of the week!    


The Central Hockey League has announced that RiverKings' forward, Bobby Chaumont, #21, has won Performance of the Week! 

                  On November 21st at the Ice Palace in Southaven against the Missouri Mavericks, Chaumont had a three-goal “natural” hat-trick in the RiverKings’ 6-1 victory.

                    Chaumont scored 1 power-play and 2 Full-Strength goals. Chaumont won by over 2,000 votes out of around 3,000 votes!

                   This season, Chaumont is fourth on the RiverKings’ scoring chart with 15 points on nine goals and six assists in 20 games of the season. His nine goals trail only Ryan Held’s league-leading 14 red-lighters on the RiverKings’ goal scoring list.
